Using the GWDG Scientific Compute Cluster

Content

For first time users the Linux operating system on the compute cluster presents a substantial initial hurdle, as does preparing their programs and using the batch system. This course is intended to provide a smooth entry into the topic. We will start with connecting to the cluster and an overview on the most important Linux commands. After that, compilation and installation of software will be covered. Finally, an overview of efficiently using the compute resources with the batch system is given.

Learning Goal

The course helps new users to start interacting with the HPC cluster of the GWDG and shows optimal ways of running computations.
