VI-HPS Tuning Workshop

Event content

This workshop will allow participants to become more familiar with common performance analysis and diagnosis techniques and how they can be employed in practice (on a range of HPC systems). Those who prepared their own application test cases will have been coached in the tuning of their measurement and analysis, and provided optimization suggestions.

Learning goal

• Overview of the VI-HPS programming tools suite
• Knowledge of the functionality of individual tools and how to use them effectively
• Hands-on experience and expert assistance using the tools

• Laptop
• Essentials of using HPC (job manager, etc)
• Essentials of HPC programming (MPI, OpenMP, …)
• Advised: having your own code to optimise: - HPC code - Compiled language (C/C++/Fortran/etc)
